The FMA Montgomery District Event was our second competition of the season. It was a fierce and fiery competition that had us sitting on the edge of our seats. We started off the competition on a really good note. We were extremely pleased that Squiliam performed at its best, with minimal to no repairs required. We finished the qualification matches ranked 9th out of 32 teams with a 9-6-0 record. As the captain of Alliance 6, we pushed through a tough elimination bracket and advanced to round 3 of the playoffs. With that being said, we did win the Engineering Inspiration Award, which sparked our hope, as we qualified to play at the FMA District Championship at Lehigh University. This recognition affirmed our team’s dedication not only to robot performance but also to outreach and STEM advocacy.
