Outreach

Our team is deeply committed to outreach, sharing the mission of FIRST throughout our community and inspiring new students to get involved in STEM. Each year, we host a variety of events—like our Whiton Elementary School program, where young students get hands-on exposure to our robots and learn how they work.

One of our largest initiatives to date is RoboCon, a two‑day event at the Bridgewater Commons mall created in collaboration with FRC Teams 56, 75, and 3637. RoboCon reaches thousands of visitors and showcases every level of FIRST—FLL, FTC, and FRC. The event features an FRC exhibition in the center of the mall, FLL workshops, FTC demonstrations, STEM exploration activities, and participation from scientists, organizations, schools, and companies across the region.

We also host Robotics Day, an Arduino‑based robotics challenge designed for students in grades 8–12 with no prior experience. Participants build, wire, and program small robots to complete challenge tasks, then compete in multiple categories for fun prizes.

This year, we launched a new outreach initiative: our Summer Robotics Program for incoming 6th–9th graders. This hands-on program introduces students to robotics, coding, teamwork, and problem‑solving in an engaging STEM environment. Participants work collaboratively to design, test, and refine projects while building engineering and computational thinking skills.
